PLANTING
This planting plan was developed for a prominent corner within a residential community, serving both as an ecological gesture and a visual gateway into the neighborhood. With water conservation as a guiding principle, the design features a carefully curated palette of drought-tolerant and regionally adapted plant species that require minimal irrigation while still providing seasonal interest, texture, and habitat value. The spatial arrangement and planting patterns draw inspiration from the movement and rhythm of the nearby Cherry Creek River. Through layered plant groupings and flowing forms, the design evokes the meandering path of water, subtly reinforcing the site’s connection to its local hydrology. In doing so, the landscape not only conserves a vital resource but also tells a quiet story of place—bridging function, aesthetics, and ecological awareness.
